If you’re searching for a dentist near me in Round Rock, a smart way to choose is to ask a few direct questions about services, scheduling and insurance before you book. The answers will quickly tell you whether an office truly fits your family, your calendar and your budget.
Maybe you just moved into a new home in Teravista or Forest Creek. Maybe your longtime dentist retired, or your current office is now a long drive from where you live in Hutto, Pflugerville or Georgetown. Either way, typing “dentist near me round rock” into your phone gives you plenty of results. A map pin and a star rating, though, can only tell you so much.
Below are seven practical questions to ask any office you’re considering, plus why each one matters at this time of year.
Why Fall Is a Smart Time to Find a New Dentist
October is National Dental Hygiene Month, and it’s also a natural checkpoint before the busy holiday season. For many Round Rock families, the weeks between back-to-school and Thanksgiving feel a little calmer. That makes it a good window to get established with a new office.
There’s a practical reason too: many dental insurance plans run on a calendar year. If yours does, unused preventive benefits may not carry over into January. Finding a new dentist now gives you time to schedule a checkup and cleaning, plus any follow-up care, before the year wraps up. Check your plan details or ask the office to help you understand them.
Questions About Services and Care
1. Can you take care of most of my needs in one office?
Bouncing between offices for referrals means more paperwork, more time off work and more appointments. Ask whether the practice offers a full range of care, such as:
- Routine dental exams and cleanings
- Fillings, crowns and other everyday general dentistry
- Cosmetic options like whitening or bonding
- Tooth replacement such as dental implants
- Root canal treatment
If you’re choosing for a whole household, ask whether they see kids, parents and grandparents. A family dentistry practice can often line up appointments so more than one person is seen in the same trip.
2. Who will I see, and what is their background?
It’s fair to ask about the dentists themselves. At Chandler Creek Dental Care, for example, our team includes:
- Dr. Ravneet Kaur, DMD, BDS, a general, restorative and cosmetic dentist who handles checkups, crowns and smile improvements
- Dr. Jake H. Duong, DDS, who provides extractions, dental implants and IV sedation
- Dr. Faiza Ali, DScD, an endodontist (a root canal specialist) who provides root canal treatment right here in our office
You can learn more on our meet the team page. Whichever office you choose, knowing who’s on staff helps you understand what care you can get without being sent somewhere else.
3. What technology do you use?
Modern tools can make visits more comfortable and help your dentist see what’s going on more clearly. Ask whether the office uses digital X-rays, intraoral cameras (tiny cameras that show you pictures of your own teeth on a screen) or 3D imaging.
Our office uses CBCT 3D imaging, Primescan digital scanning, digital X-rays and intraoral cameras. You can read more about how these tools work on our dental technology page.
Questions About Scheduling and Access
4. Do your hours fit my schedule?
Even an office that looks great on paper won’t help if you can never get in. Ask about weekday hours, whether any weekend appointments are available and how far out new patient visits are booking.
Our hours are:
- Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
- Saturday (2nd & 4th of each month): 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
- Sunday: Closed
Those twice-monthly Saturday appointments can be helpful if you commute to Austin or Cedar Park during the week. Learn more on our weekend dentist page.
Location matters too. Our office is at 2200 N A W Grimes Blvd, Suite 100, which many patients from Mesa Park, Teravista and nearby Georgetown find convenient. You’ll find directions on our location page.
5. What happens if I have a dental emergency?
Toothaches and broken teeth rarely happen at a convenient time. Before you ever need it, ask:
- Do you see existing patients for urgent problems?
- Do you accept new patients with emergencies?
- How quickly can you usually get someone in?
We offer emergency dentistry for toothaches, broken teeth and dental injuries, with same-day appointments when possible. Calling as early in the day as you can gives us a better chance of finding you a spot.
Questions About Insurance and Cost
6. Are you in network with my insurance?
Being “in network” usually means the office has an agreement with your insurance company, which can lower your out-of-pocket costs. Always ask about your plan by name. We are in network with:
- Delta Dental
- MetLife
- Cigna
- Aetna
- UnitedHealthcare
If you’re switching dentists before year end to use your remaining benefits, ask the office to help you check what your plan covers. Our dental insurance page has more details.
7. What if I don’t have insurance or need help with costs?
Not everyone has dental coverage, and that shouldn’t keep you from care. Ask whether the office offers a membership plan, financing or new patient specials.
At Chandler Creek Dental Care, we offer an in-house membership plan and financing through CareCredit, Sunbit, Alphaeon Credit, Proceed Finance and Cherry. For patients without dental insurance, we also offer:
- $99 New Patient Special for your first visit
- $89 Emergency Exam to find the cause of your pain
- Free Dental Implant Consultation to find out if you’re a good candidate
These offers are for patients without dental insurance and can’t be combined with other offers.
Other Signs You’ve Found the Right Fit
Beyond the seven questions, pay attention to how the office makes you feel:
- Clear explanations. A good dentist explains what they see and walks you through your options in plain language, without pressure.
- Real reviews. Read what local patients say. We’re grateful to have 4.9 stars from 236 Google reviews, and you can read some of them on our reviews page.
- Easy communication. Are your calls returned? Are questions about cost answered up front?
- Comfort. If dental visits make you nervous, ask how the office helps anxious patients feel at ease.
Your first exam is also your chance to get personal advice. Only an in-person visit can show what your teeth and gums actually need, so don’t wait for a problem to get established.
